Spyware is hidden inside certain programs to gather information about you.  Here are a few programs to help you get rid of known spyware.  Please make sure to backup the spyware before deleting them, it can sometimes hinder the program that's using them useless.

Optout (currently cancelled) - Program by Gibson Research Corporation to help get rid of known spyware, etc.  Was still in beta when he was working on it but he's cancelled it. Don't worry though, he's working on a new program called NetFilter which supposedly includes Optout built-in along with other useful features.  BTW, this guy (Steve Gibson) writes all of his programs in 100% Pure Assembler language! Making his programs extremely small, fast, and only one file (no installation/no added registry entries)!


Ad-Aware - Program by Lavasoft.  Does the same thing as Optout only alot better (plus you can actually download it, lol).


SpyBlocker- This is a very useful program designed to keep your privacy.  It'll block known spyware, web bugs, cookies, advertisements, and annoying content. Windows 2000 & XP users have to disable their DNS Client or else it will take almost all your CPU priority/resources & slow your system to a crawl! :)
